Mayfield's Jackson returns from health scare

Mayfield senior Deion Jackson has been arguably the biggest playmaker for the Cardinals this season.  About a month ago, it appeared his high school football career may have been over.

Doctors diagnosed Jackson with a hole in his lung.  He missed three games while waiting for that hole to heal itself.   The fear was if he got hit in the wrong spot before it was fully healed, the lung could collapse.

Doctors cleared him to return to the field before last week's state semifinal matchup with Frankfort.  Jackson caught a touchdown pass in his return to the field.  He says his time away taught him to take nothing for granted.  Now Jackson just wants to win leave the Mayfield program with a third state championship.

Mayfield will play Williamsburg Friday morning at 11am in Bowling Green.
