PADUCAH, Ky. - Starting this morning, some inmates in Paducah will be moved to a new community correction center and public safety complex.

The center will house low-risk inmates, most of whom are on work release.

It is located on the corner of 7th and Adams streets in Paducah. The center can house up to 132 inmates.

Jailer Bill Adams says they hope to have a variety of programs for the low risk inmates, including a proposed "dog program."

"There will be some programs we've never offered here before," Adams said. "We're hoping to start a new dog program where they take in animals, specifically dogs. Then the animal shelter will adopt them out."
