McCracken County man faces drug, wanton endangerment charges
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - A local man faces drug charges after his own daughter called the sheriff's department to turn him in.
Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant in the 6400 block of Old Mayfield Road on Sunday. They found 52-year-old Christopher Carney with an ounce of marijuana in the house, as well as paraphernalia. Both were located in areas that were easily accessible to two children, both under the age of 12.
During the investigation, a social worker learned that one of the kids was able to identify the pot because of the DARE program.
Carney was arrested and charged with two counts of Wanton Endangerment and one count each of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The children are in the custody of a family member.
