METROPOLIS, Ill. - After being closed for 34 years, a local city says it has found a buyer for its historic theater, and there's a Hollywood and Superman link that's interesting.

At Monday night's Metropolis City Council meeting, the mayor and council members agreed to sell the Massac Theatre to Larry Ward.

Ward is the manager of Noel Neill, who played Lois Lane on the television series "Adventures of Superman" in the 1950's.

In Ward's proposal to the city, he stated he wants to attempt to re-create the theater as it looked in the 1940's.

He hopes that full restoration will be complete in two years.
