Michigan fugitive, 2 others arrested in stolen truck in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - Three people are in jail after McCracken County deputies caught the trio in a stolen pickup truck from Michigan.

Deputies arrested 27-year-old Jeffrey Ecklid of Parma, Mich., and his passengers, 23-year-old Brett Bernhardt of Paducah and 19-year-old Jonathan Coleman of Jackson, Mich.

The arrests came after a check of the 2012 Ford F-150's tag showed the truck was stolen from a U-Haul dealer in Jackson, Mich.

Ecklid is charged with receiving stolen property more than $10,000 and also had unrelated warrants in Michigan and Kentucky. Other charges include DUI, tampering with physical evidence, reckless driving and giving an officer a false name.

Bernhardt is charged with possession of marijuana and Coleman is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
