JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A Missouri lawmaker is pushing for a change in the state's method of execution.

State Representative RIck Brattin introduced a bill that would change how the death penalty is carried out. The bill would change the method from lethal injection to firing squad.

Missouri and other states ran out of the lethal injection drug last year when the European Union stopped selling it.

Brattin says the firing squad is a more humane way to execute.
