Missouri man convicted of abusing daughter

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Mo. - 27 year-old Jeff Hemphill was found guilty of two counts of first degree assault, two counts of child abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Mississippi County Prosecuting Attorney Darren Cann says the charges stem from incidents occurring in 2011.  Cann says Hemphill's three month-old daughter was seen by a doctor for a lump on her chest.  During the treatment, the doctor discovered she had multiple fractures on her ribs and a fractured night femur.  The doctor said the fractures were in varying stages of healing.
