METROPOLIS, Ill. - The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will meet with Honeywell officials next week to discuss apparent violations at the Metropolis plant.

Those violations appear to be because the company failed to identify potential accident scenarios that might be caused by earthquakes or tornadoes.

More than 200 employees were laid off at the Honeywell plant as officials begin work on necessary upgrades to prepare for a natural disaster.

During next Monday's meeting, NRC officials also plan to discuss licensing issues related to the modifications at the plant.
