Portion of new U.S. 60 Tennessee River Bridge opens to traffic

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - Lots of drivers are celebrating because a portion of the new Ledbetter Bridge is open!

The U.S. 60 Tennessee River Bridge opened Monday evening.

The new bridge connects McCracken and Livingston counties.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says all four lanes should be open by late fall or early spring.

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - Good news for commuters.  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet tells Local 6 the new U.S. 60 Tennessee River Bridge, also known as the Ledbetter Bridge, between McCracken and Livingston counties will open Monday night between 7 and 8 p.m.

Message boards and signs alerting drivers of the change have already been installed.  Officials also tell Local 6 the traffic signal on the McCracken County side will be up and running.

The old Ledbetter bridge will remain open to traffic until around 6 to 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
