Official: Leak in propane line caused deadly Calloway County house explosion
UPDATE: Family members tell Local 6 Barbara Parker died Friday from her injuries at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. - The Kentucky State Fire Marshal's Office says a propane leak likely caused last weekend's deadly house explosion in Calloway County.
William Swope with the Kentucky State Fire Marshal's Office says a leak in a propane line caused the explosion, which took place Saturday night. Swope adds that the explosion occurred in the crawlspace of the home.
The explosion killed Kenneth Story and injured Marty Story, Melissa McLeod, Ira Greer and Barbara Parker. All four surviving victims were taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Three of the victims remain hospitalized in Nashville. The hospital says Parker is in stable condition in the trauma unit, while McLeod and Greer are in critical but stable condition in the burn unit. Marty Story was released earlier this week.
