PADUCAH, Ky. - Paducah Mayor Gayle Kaler says Jerry Hoover's resignation from the Paducah Area Community Re-use Organization was a mutual decision.

Hoover sent executive committee members his resignation letter Thursday.

Kaler says it comes after two months of discussions about his capacity to perform as chairman while dealing with a serious health situation.

Maryanne Medlock with PACRO says executive committee members are working to replace Hoover according to their bylaws.

PADUCAH, Ky. - The chairman of the Paducah Area Community Reuse Organization is resigning from his post.

Jerry Hoover told the Paducah Sun on Thursday that he was wrong in canceling a committee meeting Wednesday afternoon. He said he felt that not enough members would attend, although committee members say 14 of the 26 members confirmed while nine declined.

After the meeting, PACRO's committee emailed Paducah Mayor Gayle Kaler, asking for Hoover's resignation.

Hoover served as PACRO's chairman for seven years.
