PACRO committee to recommend Paducah Economic Development to take over operations
PADUCAH, Ky. - Paducah Mayor Gayle Kaler says the PACRO Administration Contract Negotiation Committee plans to recommend that Paducah Economic Development (PED) take over operations of PACRO.
Committee members went into closed session during a meeting Wednesday to hear proposals from PED and the McCracken County Fiscal Court. Both entities had expressed interest in running PACRO, which stands for Paducah Area Community Reuse Organization.
The organization is charged with lessening the impact of the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant's closure.
PACRO's Executive Committee plans to meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
PADUCAH, Ky. - A second group is expressing interest in the administrative contract for the Paducah Area Community Reuse Organization, or PACRO.
Paducah Economic Development (PED) President Chad Chancellor tells the Paducah Sun that PED will attend a PACRO meeting Wednesday to discuss their interest.
PACRO's committee suggested the McCracken County Fiscal Court take over duties, since most of its work takes place in the county.
The fiscal court is still working out an agreement with PACRO.
