PADUCAH, Ky. - The Paducah-McCracken County 911 Board voted Thursday night to place Emergency Communication Center director Jamie Spears on unpaid administrative leave.

That vote just came down at the 911 communications center in downtown Paducah, Kentucky.

Paducah Fire Chief Steve Kyle said the board wants to take a fresh approach to the position.

Kyle added Spears has served as director for about ten years.

Spears was given a severance package.

Assistant Director Brent Stringer was named acting interim director.
