Paducah Police Chief Berry accepts position at Kentucky State University

PADUCAH, Ky. - Paducah's Chief of Police has a new job at Kentucky State University.

James Berry will be the Director of University Safety and Security Affairs beginning August 16.

Berry is a 38-year veteran of law enforcement with prior experience as the chief of security at a school. He has served as Chief of Police for the City of Paducah since 2009.

The Paducah Police Department accepted Berry's resignation effective August 9.

“Chief Berry brought stability to the Paducah Police Department," City Manager Jeff Pederson said. "He was the right man at the right time.”
