Paducah man faces several charges in connection with robbery

PADUCAH, Ky. - A Paducah man faces several charges, including robbery, after police say he tried to steal a cell phone and threatened three people with a knife.

Paducah Police say 47-year-old Jeffrey Carpenter tried to steal a cell phone belonging to June Bolino on Monday night. Carpenter also allegedly threatened Bolino and two witnesses, Nicholas Justice and William Brewer, with a knife.

Bolino, Justice and Brewer told police that a struggle ensued with Carpenter before officers arrived. Once an officer arrived at the scene, Carpenter fled and hid behind a bush. After he was located, he continued to resist arrest before being subdued and taken into custody.

Carpenter was charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree, Alcohol Intoxication, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree. He is in the McCracken County Jail.
