Pedestrian teenager hit twice, lifeflighted
SYMSONIA, Ky - A teenager is in stable condition after suffering serious injuries when she was hit twice by two different vehicles walking in a roadway Sunday night.
Kentucky State Police say that Cherish Willis, 16, was hit the first time while walking in front of Symsonia Elementary School.
After failing to avoid the collision, the driver immediately pulled over in order to try to help and call 911.
The second driver failed to realize Willis was lying in the road, and struck the teenager a second time.
Willis was lifeflighted to Vanderbilt Medical Center, suffering serious injuries to her leg and face.
Vanderbilt Medical Center reports Willis is in stable condition.
