METROPOLIS, Ill. — After more than 100 years, a local pharmacy plans to close its doors and a cash-strapped state is to blame.

The state of Illinois is in horrible financial shape and not being able to pay its bills is having a domino effect on Humma's Drugs and other local independent pharmacies.

So, the pharmacy is closing in just a matter of days.

People we talked to are shocked, surprised and sad.

In just two days, Humma's Drugs closes its doors.

The locally owned and operated business has been in Metropolis for nearly 120 years.
