Pit Bull Attacks Child
LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Ky. - A five-year-old and his mother were attacked by a neighbor's pit bull Thursday afternoon.
They were at Three Rivers Machine Shop, and Sheriff Bobby Davidson said it's still not clear what happened to lead to the attack.
Fire Chief Terry Stringer was one of the first ones there and said the injuries, while serious, did not look life-threatening. The mother and child were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Stringer, who also sits on the county fiscal court, said there is a leash law in effect for that area, but wants to look into other options to strengthen the ordinance.
The dog was taken to the Crittenden County Shelter and will be held there for the time being. The sheriff said the owners could be charged with harboring a vicious animal.
