So. Ill. woman accused of stealing purse during job search

BENTON, Ill. (AP) - A southern Illinois woman who went to a business to apply for a job didn't find work but got arrested instead for allegedly making off with an employee's purse.
   
The (Carbondale) Southern Illinoisan (http://bit.ly/MKQA1e) reports that 41-year-old Tiffanie Crabtree of Benton was arrested Sunday after the theft from the unidentified business in West City.
   
Franklin County prosecutors have charged Crabtree with felony retail theft. She remained jailed in Benton on Tuesday.
   
Crabtree does not have a listed home telephone number, and online court records do not show whether she has an attorney.
