CARMI, Ill. – Buckle up, or run the risk of getting pulled over.

Illinois State Police announced that beginning in November they will be enforcing seatbelt-use for all vehicle passengers.

Safety belt enforcement zones will be set up in Wabash and Saline Counties in order to enforce the Illinois law requiring all passengers seated in the front and back to be buckled up.

Seat belts are estimated to save over 12 thousand lives each year.
