Semi catches fire in Calvert City, Kentucky

CALVERT CITY, Ky. - First responders rushed to the scene of a semi truck fire early Wednesday.

The truck driver for Blume Farms was hauling 43,000 pounds of Irish potatoes when the trailer caught fire.

Crews extinguished the fire in the Old Travel Plaza parking lot.

The Calvert City fire chief said he believes the fire started with a malfunction of the refridgeration system.

No one was hurt.

There was no damage to any buildings, trucks or vehicles.
