Simple, somber ceremony honors Vietnam veterans

MARION, Ill. - A week-long memorial in our area honors veterans of the Vietnam War. It's all leading up to a reunion this Saturday at the Marion VFW Post 1301, where a new memorial will be unveiled.

All 58,269 names of those killed in action are being read aloud, from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m every day right up until the event.

On Friday, the names of southern Illinois veterans will be read.
