BENTON, Ky. — An annual tradition in our region will have some people coughing up a little extra cash this year.

In about two weeks hundreds of vendors and thousands of people will converge in Benton, Kentucky for Tater Day.

It is one of the largest springtime events in our region. This year marks the 168th Tater Day full of classic cars, funnel cakes, carnival rides and a parade.

For the first time in the event's history vendors need to pay a $25 permit fee in order to operate and sell items. Also, the Benton Kiwanis Club is enforcing a rule involving the Confederate flag.
