Tenn man to face trial in January in slaying

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - A Tennessee man charged with the slaying of a woman will face trial in January.

The Murray Ledger & Times reported that 56-year-old James Paul Cook of McLemoresville, Tenn., will face a jury from Jan. 28-30 in Calloway Circuit Court in Murray.
Cook faces charges in the Oct. 4, 2012 death of Desiree Moore, 37, of Puryear, Tenn. Police say a vehicle he was driving ran over Moore twice near a driveway in eastern Calloway County. Cook is also charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to render aid or assistance and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
A final pre-trial conference date is set for Jan. 13.
Cook has pleaded not guilty.
