Thanksgiving easier to afford for Missourians
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo - Thanksgiving just got a little more affordable in Missouri.
The average savings from last year is $3.26.
Sweet potatoes, milk, and whipping cream were the items that decreased most in price.
Thanksgiving items Increased in price were not significant enough to offset savings from other items.
According to the Missouri Farm Bureau Director of Promotion and Education Programs, the price of a turkey dropped 18 cents.
The average cost this year is $48.61 as compared to $51.87 last year to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal with leftovers for 10.
