PADUCAH, Ky. - The weather is finally warmer, so that means school will soon be out and everyone will be looking to get outside. It's also time we start to spruce up our homes by cleaning and fixing up outside areas.

If you need a few items to help with this, there's one place you might not immediately think to look at: the neighborhood pawn shop. The financial advisors at say if you or your kids need a new bike, it's the place to go. They found bikes in good condition at a fraction of their retail price.

Tools are also said to be a useful item that is found in pawn shops. Pawn shop owners often get tools in great condition from construction workers.

Also, if your kids need something to do on a rainy day, DVDs are a great find at the pawn shop. While quality is not guaranteed, you'll probably be in great shape if you inspect the condition first.

Local 6's Marissa Hollowed visited a local pawn shop this morning to find out what other items you can find that could save you some cash.
