Today marks 62nd National Day of Prayer

Thousands in communities across America will come together in prayer.

Today marks the 62nd annual National Day of Prayer. Here are a few events in the Local 6 area:

In Paducah, join NFL standout Kurt Barber at the 18th Annual Mayor - County Judge-Executive Prayer Breakfast. That begins at 7:30 at First Baptist Church. It's hosted by the Oscar Cross Boys Club.

The City of Mayfield will host "Pray Mayfield-Graves County." It will start with a breakfast at 7 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene on West Broadway. A prayer service will begin at 5:30 this evening at the site of the Old General Tire Plant on US 45.

There will be several prayer meetings in Massac County, Illinois. Those will start at 12:20 this afternoon at the courthouse lawn in Metropolis, Brookport City Hall and Joppa City Hall.

In Marion, Illinois, you can join with others at Heartland Regional Medical Center. They will gather at the hospital's courtyard cafe at 10 a.m. People of all faiths are invited to attend the service led by the hospital's chaplain corp.

In Henry County, Tennessee, stop by the court square in Paris at noon. Government officials and clergy from all denominations will join together.

If you're in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, La Croix Church on Lexington Avenue is hosting a free breakfast.
