MARTIN, TN—Football lovers are anticipating the biggest day in the NFL season, The Super Bowl.  What are you most excited for, the sport, food, or commercials?  Students at a local university said they are excited for it all!

The University of Tennessee at Martin Sporting Management Professor Dexter Davis chose seven students to go to New York and experience The Super Bowl craze.  Professor Davis said it is not only a trip of a lifetime, but the students will also gain knowledge and experience for life after college.

"The stadium gets louder and the stands start filling in...When the National Anthem starts, it's incredible, you get goosebumps," said Professor Davis.

Davis describes his favorite pastime.

"You're at the largest sporting event in our county...There is an electricity in the air and the kids feel it," said Professor Davis.

Professor Davis now gets to share that experience.

"We're taking seven students to New York City to work with the NFL," said Professor Davis.

Seniors Sam Curtis, Darrin Howard and Juwan Turner were among the chosen ones.

Creating unforgettable memories while building career skills.

"Contacts, developing professional networks, getting to see how a mega sporting event happens...It meets their career goals, it helps them take a step down that path," said Professor Davis.

A trip of a lifetime to the Big Apple.

"When it hits them that they're at The Super Bowl, they're just going to go wow," said Professor Davis.

Professor Davis and the seven students leave on Tuesday.  Davis is hoping the students will be able to meet people in the sporting industry and learn how a mega event is put together.  The Super Bowl game is February 2nd.
