MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - A vote on expanding alcohol sales in part of one local county hits a roadblock.

The McCracken County Judge Executive's Office informed Local 6 Wednesday the petition for an alcohol vote in the Maxon Road precinct is five signatures short of the nearly 350 required.

The news jeopardizes the May 7th vote scheduled by the McCracken County Fiscal Court.  Leaders expect the vote to be cancelled during the March 25th fiscal court meeting.

Tim Stonecipher, co-owner and General Manager of the Paducah Regional Sports Plex spearheaded the effort to get the signatures.

WPSD Local 6 plans to reach out to Stonecipher to see if he plans to make a second attempt.
