PADUCAH — "Think big, eat smart!" That's the message to kids from one of the largest chocolate candy makers in the world.

Thursday, they made a stop at St. Mary Elementary School in Paducah. The question is, do the kids get the message, especially coming from a candy maker?

The company, called "World's Finest Chocolate", said they do because they've got something that grabs the kids' attention.

From a distance, you might have a hard time trying to figure what the contraption heading down the road was, but up close, it won't take long to figure out what it is, a 12,000-pound chocolate bar.

I asked kids at St. Mary Elementary if they like chocolate.

Fifth grader Madeline Lorch said, "Yes!"

Her classmate Caleb Dunn agreed.

"It's sweet and good."

But the giant bar brings along an even bigger message.

Caleb said, "I think it's huge."

Tour director Sarah Lynn Brannan said, "The message is really focusing on portion control and how important it is for kids to start these lifestyle habits at an early age, of eating right and exercising."

She said the key to bringing a message to kids is to have a hook.

"If you go to an elementary school and tell kids that you are about to tell them about exercise and eating healthy, they're not going to be nearly as interested as if you giant chocolate bar here with you."

Caleb is still fascinated with the thought of trying to eat the candy bar.

"It would take me a year or two."

I asked him, "Just a year?"

"Yeah!" he said.

Even though the bar is the star of the show, Brannan said the message will be remembered, too.

Fifth grader Lexi Carter said the message was, "how to eat right and stay in shape."

It's a message many of these kids picked up on.

Madeline Lorch said, "We learned about how to eat smart about candy and like share it with other people so we don't eat as much of it."

I asked Caleb, "What are you going to remember about today?"

He replied, "That I saw the world's largest chocolate bar."

The 12,000 pound chocolate is made with 1,200 pounds of almonds, 5,500 pounds of sugar, 2,000 pounds of milk powder, 1,700 pounds of cocoa butter and 1,400 pounds of chocolate liquor.
