Wreck hospitalizes three, brings meth charges
PADUCAH - A one-vehicle wreck on Old Mayfield Road Wednesday afternoon hospitalized three people and left them facing meth charges as well.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says that 27-year-old Joshua Spraggs of Boaz, 32-year-old Tony Spraggs of Boaz, and 24-year-old Sara Allen of Mayfield face possession of methamphetamine, and complicity to manufacture methamphetamine charges.
According to the police report, Joshua Spraggs told officers the crash occurred after a bug flew into his eye while he was driving. He lost control of the vehicle, struck a utlity pole, overturned and came to rest in a field.
Joshua Spraggs suffered a head wound and was transported to Lourdes Hospital for treatment.
Tony Spraggs was taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of a head injury.
Sara Allen was ejected from the vehicle and her legs pinned under the car before workers freed her and transported her by helicopter to an regional hospital for treatment.
In addition to the meth charges, Joshua Spraggs is charged with DUI and driving on a suspended license.
