Gerran Thomas is an award-winning reporter and anchor at WPSD Local 6. He reports for the 5 and 6pm newscasts during the week and anchors Monday-Friday editions of Local 6 at 9 on Fox 23. Gerran joined the Local 6 team in 2005 as a reporter. Since that time, his work has been recognized by The Kentucky Associated Press. In addition, one of his stories was nominated for an Emmy award from the Mid-America Chapter of The National Association of Television Arts and Sciences. Gerran came to Paducah from Kansas City, Missouri where he taught middle school Communication Arts (English).

Prior to his time in education, Gerran spent four years as an anchor, reporter, and producer for KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri. He also worked in Peoria, Illinois as a reporter/news intern for WEEK-TV.

Gerran graduated in from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2004 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in psychology. When he’s not at work, the St. Louis native enjoys running, cooking, and reading.
