Kendall Downing is a proud part of the WPSD Local 6 team and a self-proclaimed news junkie.

He's been fascinated with television news and weather for as long as he can remember, even putting on 'newscasts' for his grandmother back when he was in elementary school.

Now, he's a multimedia journalist, meaning he shoots, writes, and edits all his own stories. It's hard work, but he believes the people he meets every day make it worth it.

Since joining WPSD Local 6, Kendall's work has been recognized by the Kentucky News Photographers Assocation. He took home a first place award in 2012 in the solo videojournalist category.

Kendall grew up near Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. His first job was in the hills of eastern Kentucky at WYMT in Hazard.

He's grateful to be closer to home, friends, and family - in a place where he can tell your stories.
