6 arrested in meth lab bust


PERRYVILLE, Mo. (AP) - Six people have been arrested and charged
after the shutdown of what authorities describe as the largest
methamphetamine producer in Perry County.
Federal, state and local authorities raided the home of Gerald
Burroughs in Perryville on Friday after a deputy on patrol became
suspicious that morning.
Perry County Sheriff Gary Schaaf told the Southeast Missourian
that officers found two operating meth labs in the home.
State charges of manufacturing or possessing a controlled
substance have been brought against 69-year-old Burroughs of
Perryville; 40-year-old James Cochran; 32-year-old Jeremy Merriman
of St. Mary; 21-year-old Brittany Smith of Perryville; 47-year-old
Pamela Merriman of St. Mary, and 34-year-old Michael Wood of
