Missouri physical trainer guilty of exploiting children


SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A Springfield man has been found guilty
of sexually exploiting children by videotaping underage girls while
he was a physical trainer at a Springfield hospital.
A Springfield jury took less than an hour Wednesday to reach
guilty verdicts against 30-year-old Scott Johnson on eight counts
involving two girls at Health Tracks, a training facility operated
by St. John's Hospital.
Prosecutors say he videotaped the girls between Jan. 1, 2006,
and Dec. 31, 2007, as they disrobed and weighed themselves. He was
fired after a staff member at Health Tracks noticed a video camera
on his desk in October 2008, and videos of the two girls were
Springfield police officers later found more videotapes, which
Johnson had tried to destroy, in a trash can at his home.
