WARSAW, Mo. (AP) - A Kansas man will stand trial in the deaths
of three people who were shot to death at their home in western
Missouri.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Wednesday in Benton
County Court for Robert Blurton, but the defense waived the
hearing.
Blurton is charged with first-degree murder in the June 7 deaths
of 64-year-old Donnie Luetjen, 61-year-old Sharon Luetjen and their 15-year-old granddaughter, Taron Luetjen. They were shot to death at their Cole Camp home.
Blurton is scheduled to be arraigned April 20. The 45-year-old
resident of Garnett, Kan., is jailed on $3 million bond.
At the preliminary hearing, prosecutors would have had to
present evidence to convince the judge the state has enough to try
Blurton in the deaths.
