Body found near Missouri Dry Dock identified

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Officials in Cape Girardeau, Missouri say they have identified a body found in the Mississippi River on Sunday.

County Coroner John Clifton says the body is that of 45-year-old Wendell Robinson. Clifton says Robinson was fishing on the Mississippi River with his friend and stepson when his boat capsized. Robinson's friend also died, but his stepson survived.

The body was found just south of the Missouri Dry Dock around 8:45 Sunday morning.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Officials in Cape Girardeau, Missouri say they have identified a body found in the Mississippi River on Sunday.

That's according to the Southeast Missourian.

County Coroner John Clifton tells Local 6 a tow boat operator found the man just south of the Missouri Dry Dock around 8:45 Sunday morning. Clifton said the body appears to have been in the river for several days.

The man's name has not yet been released.
