MAKANDA, Ill. - It's a best selling novel turned major Hollywood production and it's being shot in the Local 6 region.

The novel "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn centers around a wife's disappearance and the question of whether her husband is to blame.

The novel takes place in a Missouri town on the Mississippi River.

The crew shot some scenes in Cape Girardeau, but this week they're filming at the Giant City Park and Lodge in Makanda, Illinois.

The crew has been at the park since Monday and will remain there throughout the rest of this week.
