BENTON, Mo. - Investigators accuse him of punching a sheriff's deputy. Now, he is in jail.

Glen Hartwick Junior faces several charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, assault on a law enforcement officer and possession of marijuana.

While Hartwick was leaving a Scott County nightclub Sunday morning, deputies say they noticed he was suspiciously kneeling behind a vehicle in the parking lot. When deputies walked up to him, he ran away.

Hartwick then tried to leave in another vehicle. That's when investigators say he and the deputies got into a fight. In the process, Hartwick allegedly hit a deputy in the face.

Afterwards, deputies arrested Hartwick and took him to jail.

When investigators checked the spot where Hartwick was kneeling, they found a loaded handgun behind the wheel of the vehicle.

They say Hartwick also had marijuana when they arrested him. He's in the Scott County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
