SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. – A man faces charges after someone caught him allegedly having sex with a nursing home resident.

Investigators with the Scott County Sheriff's Department charged David H. Barberis, 55, of Cape Girardeau with deviate sexual intercourse.

Investigators say Barberis travels to nursing homes in the area and plays music for the residents. While visiting one of those facilities, workers became suspicious of Barberis after he walked into a female resident's room and closed the door. A member of the nursing staff walked into the room after him and caught Barberis allegedly in the act.

The nurse reported the alleged crime to authorities. When Barberis arrived to talk to an investigator about it, authorities arrested him.

The sheriff's department set Barberis' bond at $10,000.
