Man seriously injures another in stabbing, suspect still at large

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Cape Girardeau Police are currently searching for a man charged with a stabbing incident.

Charges have been filed by the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutors Office has filed charges against 42 year-old Billy Joe McGee in reference to a stabbing that took place on Thursday night around 8:45 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Spanish Street.

Officers responded and found a male victim with a stab wound to his lower chest. McGee allegedly fled the scene after a verbal altercation with the victim. Police have not been able to locate him, and he remains at large.

There is a warrant out for McGee's arrest. McGee has been officially charged with assault and felony criminal armed action. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
