Man wanted in Fourth of July shooting found in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA— A man wanted for shooting a local father and son has been found, and will soon be headed back to our area to face his charges.

39-year-old Mark Mowery was arrested in North Carolina and is currently in the custody of the Veteran's Affairs Police Department. He is accused of shooting a Charleston, Missouri man and his 10-year-old son multiple times on July fourth.
Investigators say the situation unfolded near the intersection of Swank Street and West Iron Banks in Charleston, Missouri. Mowery allegedly pulled the trigger during an argument over fireworks.

He is being held on a no bond warrant and is charged with assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. Investigators say his two victims are improving.
