Mo. will mirror Federal taxes for same-sex couples
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri Governor, Jay Nixon issued an Executive Order that all legally same-sex marriages will be recognized for state tax purposes as they are on the federal level.
The Order will accept joint tax returns that mirror and are consistent with the Federal Treasury and IRS.
Missouri is now the only state that does not recognize same-sex marriages to still grant couples the ability to file jointly as married.
