Police make arrest in robbery, shooting case

CHARLESTON, Mo. - Police have made an arrest in an investigation involving a robbery and shooting Saturday night. 

The Charleston Department of Public Safety and the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 23 year-old George Johnson.  he's charged with Assault 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Armed, Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. 
 
The arrest is in connection to a home invasion on Oak Street in Charleston Saturday. 
 
Johnson is currently being held in the Mississippi County Jail on a $750,000 cash only bond. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are possible.

CHARLESTON, Mo. - The Charleston Department of Public Safety is investigating a home invasion involving an assault and shots being fired. 
 
Police said several suspects forced their way into a home on Oak Street in Charleston Saturday night, assaulting one person and shooting another person several times.  No word on the conditions of the two victims. 
 
Other people in the home at the time, including a child, were not injured. 
 
Investigators believe robbery was likely the motive for the crime.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol is assisting in the investigation.
