Seven injured, overpass collapses in train collision
SCOTT COUNTY, Mo.— Seven people are injured after a freight train t-boned another at a rail intersection in southeastern Missouri early Saturday morning.
Several train cars derailed igniting a fire and triggering the collapse of a highway overpass around 2:30 am near County Road 210 and Highway M.
Fire officials say the bridge collapsed into a "v" shape.
Five people from at least two cars and two train engineers were taken to an area hospital.
Officials from The National Transportation Safety Board are investigating to find out how this happened.
