Paducah - Inga Street of Murray, Kentucky is back in custody after she cut off her ankle monitoring device, leaving McCracken County deputies scrambling to locate her. Circuit Judge Dennis Foust tells Local 6 she was facing charges in Calloway and Marshall Counties for passing worthless checks at two auto dealer-ships.

Street was out on bond awaiting another court appearance on Monday.

"I was told that the conditions of her ankle bracelet was that she was not to leave Calloway County," said McCracken County Deputy Kevin Carter.

On Friday, just days before she might have reached a plea deal in the case, her ankle bracelet was found in the trash can at a McCracken County gas station. "The monitoring company got the alert that it had been compromised," said Carter.

Not only did the monitoring company know the ankle bracelet had left Calloway County, but a customer discovered the bracelet at the gas station because it was sounding an alarm.

Surveillance video showed the woman and the taxi van that had carried her from Murray, which helped deputies figure out that her next move was the Greyhound Bus Station. Within five hours, Street was back in custody in St. Louis as she waited to board another bus.

Street could face additional charges for damaging and ditching the ankle bracelet as well as fleeing the county.
