AP NewsMinute 10:55 a.m. CST - More searching...Israel reacts to Iran's move...More snow coming

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) - Crews at the scene of the explosion
yesterday at an uncompleted power plant in Connecticut today will
be trying to make the debris safer for emergency personnel. Part of
the building isn't stable enough for searchers to continue their
work. Five people are known dead, and about five others are
unaccounted for.

JERUSALEM (AP) - Israel says it's more proof that Iran is
"ridiculing the entire world." It's Israel's reaction to Iran's
official notification today that it will be enriching at least some
of its uranium. Just getting the stockpile to 20 percent
enrichment, which Iran says it will do, would be a major step for
that country's nuclear program.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The United States and the European Union are
calling on Iran to end human rights abuses against its citizens. In
a joint statement, the U.S. and E.U. condemn the detentions, mass
trials and denial of the right to peaceful expression following
last year's disputed presidential elections.

ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) - Authorities in Detroit have been
questioning a man who they say walked through a passenger screening
checkpoint today at Detroit Metropolitan Airport and refused to
obey security officers. Part of the terminal was evacuated.
Security screening there resumed about an hour later.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - Residents in and around Washington,
D.C., don't have much more time to clear away the snow from the
weekend blizzard before a new storm arrives. Forecasters say
there's a potential for another five inches or more tomorrow. But
they say some sunshine today should help melt some of what's
already on the ground.
