Kentucky Derby, Kentucky Oaks continues on NBC
STAMFORD, Conn. - Don't change that channel!
NBC Sports Group have reached an agreement, extending their exclusive broadcast rights to the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks for 10 more years, through 2025.
The agreement is between the NBC Sports Group and Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) and will extend the partnership that began in 2001.
The Kentucky Derby, Kentucky Oaks, and Derby and Oaks day programming will continue to be televised on NBC, NBCSN, and featured on NBC's digital platforms.
NBC Sports Group Chairman Mark Lazarus says, "We are excited to extend our partnership with Churchill Downs for both the iconic Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby and are proud to have them as signature elements of our Championship Season."
The Kentucky Derby is America's oldest continuously held major sporting event with this year's 140th Run for the Roses Saturday, May 3, 2014.
