Gov. Quinn declares Massac county state disaster area
CHICAGO, Ill. - Governor Pat Quinn today declared Massac county as one of seven state disaster areas.
Later today, Governor Quinn will be on the ground inspecting some of the hardest hit areas in Illinois.
Among the seven state disaster areas are the counties of Champaign, Grundy, LaSalle, Massac, Tazewell, Washington, and Woodford.
The disaster declaration makes a wide variety of state resources available to those in the affected communities that can help the recovery such as heavy equipment, communication equipment, and assistance.
