Ky. Senators, Rep encouraged by DOE statement

 WASHINGTON - Department of Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz has released comments today that there has been a 'request for offers' process that will enable future development in Paducah in regards to uranium enrichment and the ultimately closing Gaseous Diffusion Plant.

Senators McConnell, Rand Paul and Congressman Ed Whitfield are encouraged by Secretary Moniz's comments.

Paducah 'remains a very important criteria' to the Department of Energy as they finalize their decision on the request for offers process.

The DOE is expected to make its decision shortly.
